Recently the Audio Publishers Association announced the nominees for the top level categories for their 2011 Audies® Awards. I was half tempted to put a picture of Johnny Depp here instead of Keith Richards, whose autobiography has been nominated for AudioBook of the Year. Johnny Depp is said to be one of the reasons why this audio books was nominated.

The 2010 Audies® were awarded at the end of last month. Nelson Mandela's African Folktales took Audiobook of the Year. It was not that much of a surprise given the star ensemble cast that narrated the audio book. We updated our list of Audies® 2010 Winners and Nominees from our catalog.

Yesterday the APA(Audio Publishers Association) announced the nominees for the 2 most prestigious awards to be given out at the Audies Award Ceremony in May. AudioBook of the Year and Distinguished Achievement in Production tend to get a lot of the press even though the Audies are awarded across 30 categories.

Every year The Audio Publishers Association sponsors the Audies® Awards for Audio Books. It is the only one of its kind in the audio book industry. We are a proud member of this trade association that stands up for the issues that are important to the audio book industry. They offer a variety of membership benefits for businesses, publishers and narrators. They also put on the Audio Publishers Association Conference (APAC) that this year is being held in New York on the day before the Audies® Gala which is going to be held on May 25th.
